Learning to fear God:
I had to do some soul searching and asking for forgiveness from God because I was not fearing Him. I'd value other things and people more than I value Him. I woke thinking wanting to fear God. Hearing the story of Joshua in chapter 24 and listening to Dr. Tony Evans this morning, a lot was on my mind. Allow me to share:

The Lord is a Great and Mighty King! We should give a Great and Mighty King our best (praise, worship, sacrifice, time, effort), not our leftovers (tiredness, unwillingness, wrong motive of doing, heart is not in it)! Either you bring Him your all and your  best or He don't want it all! HE DESERVES OUR ALL! NOT SOMETHING THROWN TOGETHER! HE DESERVES TO BE RESPECTED!

We do more for others and things more than what we do for God. Why? Because we value it more than God. We can watch our favorite tv shows and be tired but stay focus because that's what we value. But when it comes to God, we can barely stay focus for Him for 20 minutes in our word without getting distracted. We can come to church and 30 minutes into the message we are ready to go but when our team is playing, we give them 3 hour of undivided attention. When our children have a sports game on Wednesday night and bible study is the same night, that values more than God. This is where it hits me the most. We can come to church late but always on time for work, appointments, or other activities. We give give our all to everything and everyone around us, but expect God to get what little we have and for Him to give us His all in return. We make what's irrelevant or no use to God more valuable to us than we make God more valuable and making everything else irrelevant or no use to us.

What or who do we value most?
Is what or who we value more than God wake us up this morning? Is what or who we value more than God keeps us in good health? Is what or who we value more than God can give us peace? Is what or who we value more than God can do the impossible? No! But why do we treat God as if we are eating from a table feeding Him leftovers when we should bringing Him our best dish to satisfy a Holy King? Because what or who we value the most outside of God, shows who or what you fear and serve the most. What we value more than God shows there's no fear or reverence for Him and that make Him less valuable. He becomes 2nd, 3rd place and so on rather than our #1 or 1st place in our lives.
